Armand Duplantis broke his own world record in the pole vault at the Diamond League meet in China, clearing 6.24 meters. The 24-year-old athlete from Sweden, also known as Mondo, proved his talent and skill by surpassing the record of 6.23 he had set just last September at the Diamond League meet in Oregon.
Duplantis mentioned at a pre-meet news conference that he never puts limits on himself and is always capable of a record-breaking performance. Entering the competition at 5.62 meters, Duplantis went on to clear 5.82 and 6 meters before successfully attempting the record and clearing it on his first try. Following his impressive feat, Sam Kendricks finished second at 5.82 and Huang Bokai finished third at 5.72. This marked the eighth time Duplantis has set a world record in his pole vaulting career.
