On Sunday, the NASCAR Cup race at World Wide Technology Raceway saw a mix of winners and losers. Austin Cindric emerged as a winner after engine issues for Christopher Bell and Ryan Blaney running out of fuel. This victory ended Cindric’s 85-race winless drought, with him calling it one of their best executed races this year.
Denny Hamlin also found himself in the winner’s circle with his runner-up finish, marking his fifth consecutive top-five finish. Brad Keselowski finished third, continuing his streak of top-three finishes in the last three races. Carson Hocevar had an eighth-place finish, his best in a Cup race, while Austin Dillon finished sixth and Justin Haley had a solid ninth-place finish.
However, Ryan Blaney was a loser in Sunday’s race as he was set for his first victory of the season when he ran out of fuel and lost the lead with two laps to go. Kyle Busch also found himself on the losing end after an incident with Kyle Larson sent him into the wall, resulting in a 35th place finish and knocking him out of a playoff spot with 11 races left in the regular season.
