The New York Mets have bolstered their pitching depth by claiming right-handed reliever Ty Adcock off waivers from the Detroit Tigers. After being claimed, Adcock was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse, where he struggled this season with an 8.64 ERA and 2.04 WHIP in 8.1 innings over nine appearances for both the Mariners and Tigers.

Despite his struggles in Triple-A, Adcock has shown potential throughout his three-year minor league career. In 37.0 innings pitched, he has a 4.62 ERA, 1.189 WHIP, and strikes out an average of 10.7 batters per nine innings. Originally drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the eighth round of the 2019 MLB Draft out of Elon University, Adcock brings versatility to the Mets’ bullpen as they look to strengthen their pitching staff.
