On Thursday, Meta announced its entry into the competitive artificial intelligence (AI) sector. Its applications, including WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger, will now feature an AI assistant to answer questions, provide advice or request drawings. This AI assistant, known as Meta AI, will be prominently featured across all Meta platforms. Additionally, Meta will launch a separate app and webpage where users can consult their assistant for free, similar to other AI models like ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini.

The introduction of Meta AI represents a significant advancement in AI technology for the company. The company presented Llama 3, a new model that will enhance its AI capabilities across its platforms. With over 3 billion users worldwide, Meta’s decision to integrate AI into its apps will democratize access to AI on a global scale.
