Andrea McLaughlin has been appointed as the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital. McLaughlin, who has been serving as the interim CNO since January 2024, officially assumed her new position on April 28. With over 20 years of experience in the nursing field, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role.

McLaughlin’s career in nursing began with bedside care before progressing to nursing leadership. Her clinical background includes working in correctional facilities, emergency medicine, medicine-surgery progressive care, and ambulatory care settings. In addition to her clinical work, she has also been involved in teaching the next generation of healthcare professionals as a faculty member at Brightpoint Community College and Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Nursing.

As a member of the leadership team at Tappahannock Hospital, McLaughlin is dedicated to representing the nursing workforce and ensuring high-quality care for patients and the surrounding community. Her appointment underscores VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital’s commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services.
