A group of senior doctors in the health system have expressed strong opposition to a legislative initiative that they believe will increase inequality and lead to a significant increase in reserve days for public servants. They argue that extending reserve service requirements will significantly impact the availability of doctors and specialist doctors in the health system, as well as the training of medical professionals like students and interns.

The doctors emphasize that equality of burden is essential for a democratic and just society, as well as for promoting social solidarity and the well-being of the State of Israel. They express concern about doctors leaving the country in response to the proposed changes, which they see as a threat to the country’s future.

In their appeal, the experts urge the government, Knesset, and all leaders in the country to stop harmful actions and implement a strategy that promotes sustainability and well-being. They call for a focus on social, national, and economic measures that will secure the future of the state and prevent further loss of educated and productive individuals.
