The “Iron Swords” war saw around 200 doctors arrive in Israel to provide emergency medical assistance. Now, a program is underway to bring approximately 150 doctors to immigrate to Israel and integrate into the health system over the next two years. By the end of 2025, it is expected that 150 doctors will have arrived, with a goal of reaching about 2,000 doctors by 2030.

To facilitate this program, the “Medex” fair was recently held in the USA, with another fair scheduled at the end of the month in Paris. These fairs aim to assist doctors who are interested in immigrating to Israel by offering pre-approved employment licenses and guaranteed job placements in the health system. Prof. Salman Zarqa, director of the Ziv Medical Center, has been meeting with doctors to inform them about opportunities at the hospital, which has been designated as a super center by the Minister of Health, Uriel Bosso.

The Minister of Immigration and Absorption, Ofir Sofer, highlights the importance of bringing in doctors to strengthen the Israeli health system, particularly in areas like the Galilee and the Negev. Financial incentives and language training programs have been put in place to encourage doctors to settle in these regions. The goal is to attract hundreds of doctors to Israel each year to meet the growing medical needs of the country.
