Fifth-grade students from McKinley Elementary presented their science fair projects to a panel of judges, including Lisbon Mayor Peter Wilson, Board of Education members, state highway patrol and police officers, and other community members. The students showcased a wide range of projects with topics ranging from egg shell durability to the impact of games on stress.

One project that caught the attention of Brittany Tyler was presented by Kole Phillips who explored the relationship between games and stress. T.K. Hiscox, the president of the Board of Education, judged a project on egg shell durability from Skylar Lewis and Myriah Moore while Jennifer Whitman learned about soap versus grease experiment from Teagan Triplett and Aubree Keys. State Highway Trooper Nathan Bowlen listened to these students present their findings on soap versus grease experiment.

The students were proud to present their projects and engage with the judges, seeking feedback and insights from experts in attendance. It was a valuable learning experience for them as they were able to showcase their scientific knowledge and communication skills in a real-world setting. The community members who served as judges showed their support and interest in the students’ work, creating an engaging environment for science fair.
