The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is making significant progress on its new behavioral health center in downtown Florence. The Jean and Hugh K. Gov. Henry McMaster and Florence Mayor Teresa Ervin will be among the speakers at the event, which takes place at 1 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to sign the final steel beam for the facility, which represents a significant milestone in providing much-needed behavioral health services to the community.

The new facility will serve as a regional behavioral health center for the Pee Dee area, offering a combination of triage, crisis stabilization, telehealth, outpatient, and inpatient services. The facility is expected to open in October 2025 and will play a critical role in addressing the growing mental health needs of residents in South Carolina.
