On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, a dedication ceremony was held at the newly decorated and spacious chapel located at The Chapel at Mercer Health. This beautiful space was made possible by a generous donation from Dr. Mark Brown in honor of his parents, Reverend James Brown and soon-to-be Reverend Patricia Brown.

Dr. Mark Brown expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his parents for their unwavering support throughout his life and career. He also shared his vision for the chapel as a place of peace and comfort for those who may be facing difficult times.

Lisa Klenke, CEO of Mercer Health Medical Group (MHMG), gave an insightful speech on the history and importance of the new chapel. She explained how the space would be available 24/7 for patients and their families to use as they navigate their health journeys.

The ceremony began with a blessing and prayer led by members of the Brown family, including Reverend James Brown and Patricia Brown, Dr. Mark Brown’s son, Mercer Health Medical Group physician; granddaughter Jama Scheidt, MHMG provider; great-grandson Grayson and daughter-in-law Christine Brown.

The Chapel at Mercer Health is located near the East entrance of the hospital and is expected to provide comfort and solace to many patients and their families in need of peace during challenging times.
