A car crashed into Wholesale Flooring Depot in Hollywood, Florida early Tuesday morning. This prompted a call to the Broward Sheriff’s Office at 3 a.m. The incident occurred at the intersection of Sheridan Street and N 22nd Ave. Resident Steven Deshazo, who lives nearby, described the sound of the impact as resembling a wrecking ball going through a building. He heard a fast-moving car, estimated to be traveling at 100 mph, before the loud noise of the crash.

According to reports from Miami Herald news partner CBS4, a 2014 Audi was speeding westbound on Sheridan Street when it crossed over the railroad tracks, lost control, and collided with the building. The impact caused damage to the garage door and nearby walls of Wholesale Flooring Depot. This is not the first time a vehicle has crashed into the business – a similar incident occurred in March 2021 when a car launched into the air after speeding over train tracks and hit the same building.

The driver of the car involved in the recent crash was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. The circumstances surrounding the crash have raised concerns about safety measures at the intersection of Sheridan Street and N 22nd Ave. Local residents are hoping for improvements to prevent future accidents and protect both drivers and nearby businesses.
