At the conclusion of all spring sports, it is now time to reflect on some of the top boys athletes from the Louisville area. This year’s standouts represent a diverse group of players from counties including Bullitt, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, and Spencer. Starting June 26, readers will have the opportunity to vote for their choice for Player of the Year using our online poll.

In baseball, Kaine Samuels from Ballard and Brayden Bruner of Pleasure Ridge Park stood out as top performers. Samuels was a junior pitcher/first baseman with an impressive record of 9-1 with one save, a 1.75 ERA, and 78 strikeouts in 67 ⅓ innings. At the plate, he batted .439 with five home runs, 11 doubles, 36 RBIs, and 30 runs scored. He is committed to Western Kentucky University and earned accolades such as Seventh Region Player of the Year and first-team All-State.
