Messi’s presence has drawn large crowds to the games and set a record for home attendance at Chase Field on Saturday. Despite Nashville taking an early lead, Messi equalized for Miami less than 10 minutes later with a goal after an impressive run. Joined by Luis Suárez in December, the two have formed a strong attacking partnership, scoring a total of 17 goals in competitions this season.
In addition to scoring goals, Messi provided an assist for Busquet, who netted Miami’s second goal just before halftime. Busquet expressed his gratitude for Messi’s presence and contributions on and off the field. The pair confirmed Miami’s win by converting a penalty in the 80th minute, sealing the victory with a final score of 3-1 that Nashville could not overturn.
