Lee Health is Southwest Florida’s primary destination for healthcare needs, offering acute care, emergency care, rehabilitation and diagnostic services, health and wellness education, and community outreach and advocacy programs. The efforts, support, kindness, and friendships of the volunteers are deeply appreciated and valued as an integral part of the mission-driven team at Lee Health.

Dr. Larry Antonucci leads Lee Health as its President & CEO. Last week was National Volunteer Week, and although he missed sharing a column at that time, he took the opportunity this week to express his appreciation for the volunteers at Lee Health. The dedicated service and support from a volunteer workforce that is committed to providing kindness and compassionate care are crucial to the success of Lee Health’s mission to enhance the experiences of patients, visitors, and staff in almost every department of the hospitals and offices throughout the health system and community-based locations. Whether they are working in a gift shop or driving a trolley or helping transport patients in non-patient care areas or patient care areas
