Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has announced the appointment of Leanne Caret, a former CEO and Fortune 100 director, to its Board of Trustees. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Caret currently serves as a senior advisor to Blackstone and holds positions on the board of directors for Deere & Company and RTX (formerly Raytheon Technologies). She also works as a senior advisor to MyNextSeason, providing coaching to C-suite leaders.

During her time at The Boeing Company, Caret held several leadership positions, including executive vice president, president of Boeing Defense, Space and Security, and CEO. She retired in 2022 after a distinguished career where she managed operations, finances, and a large number of employees. Caret expressed her commitment to giving back and contributing to the development of talent in the aviation and aerospace fields at Embry-Riddle.

Mori Hosseini, chair of Embry-Riddle’s Board of Trustees, highlighted Caret’s strategic thinking and industry experience, noting that she is well-positioned to help lead the institution into the future. In addition to her role at Embry-Riddle, Caret serves on the boards of various organizations and is actively involved in advisory roles for institutions such as the Virginia Tech National Security Institute and the Oklahoma Aerospace Defense Innovation Institute.

President P. Barry Butler, Ph.D., emphasized Caret’s track record of leading change in global companies and her mentorship of senior leaders. He believes that Embry-Riddle will greatly benefit from Caret’s wisdom and counsel. With a Master of Business Administration from Wichita State University and an honorary doctorate from Embry-Riddle, Caret brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role on the Board of Trustees.
