Manchester United has been in talks with Serie A side Lazio regarding the transfer of striker Mason Greenwood, who spent last season on loan at Getafe in Spain. Greenwood’s impressive performance in Spain has attracted interest from several Italian clubs, including Lazio.

According to reports from Il Messaggero via TMW, Lazio is keen on signing the Englishman and has been in discussions with United. Lazio’s CEO, Claudio Lotito, is determined to secure Greenwood and is willing to stretch the club’s finances to make it happen. The initial contact was made a few weeks ago, and now talks have progressed between the two clubs.

However, United is not satisfied with the offer made by Lazio and is considering adding goalkeeper Christos Mandas to the deal along with the €18 million fee. Mandas was recently valued at €18 million by Manchester City and United is currently only interested in a cash deal for Greenwood. Lazio is hoping to persuade them otherwise and convince them to add Mandas to the deal.

The next few hours will be crucial in determining Greenwood’s future as other clubs may enter the race for the talented striker. However, Lazio remains determined to secure his signature and make a significant offer to make it happen.
