The Brooklyn Nets are undergoing major changes in their front office as they aim to improve their performance and secure a spot in the playoffs next season. One of the key aspects of these changes involves shifts in leadership, with another key member leaving for a new job opportunity.

According to reports from Jake Fischer and Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo! Sports, JR Holden, who served as the Nets’ director of player personnel, is departing Brooklyn to take on a front office role with the Detroit Pistons. Holden will be joining the Pistons’ new front office team, led by Trajan Langdon, the team’s new president of basketball operations.

Holden’s career in the NBA has been on an upward trajectory since he transitioned from playing to a post-playing career in 2014 as a college and international scout for the Pistons. He moved up the ranks within the Pistons’ organization, eventually becoming the director of international scouting before making stops with the Philadelphia 76ers as a scout and then returning to the Nets as director of player personnel in 2019. In 2022, Holden took on the role of general manager for the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn’s G League affiliate.
