Freshman Jolena Quarzo of NC State will be representing the USATF Women’s Junior Cross Country Team at the 2024 World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. She earned her spot on the team after a standout performance at the USATF Cross Country Championships in January, where she completed the 6k race in 20:44.0.

The World Athletics Cross Country Championships will take place on March 30 at Friendship Park in Belgrade, Serbia. Live results will be available for spectators to follow along with the action. Before joining the USATF team, Quarzo had competed unattached in two races during the 2023 cross country season for NC State’s Wolfpack.

Quarzo is one of six American women who will be competing in the women’s U20 6k race tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m. (ET). Each country is allowed six entries into each race, and the top four finishers will score points for their team. Quarzo and her teammates are looking to contribute to Team USA’s efforts to secure the gold medal in the event.
