Johnson Controls has announced the sale of its Air Distribution Technologies business to Truelink Capital, a private equity firm in the US. The sale includes well-known air distribution and movement brands such as Koch Filter, Titus, Ruskin, Kreuger, PennBarry and Tuttle & Bailey, along with their product lines. These product lines consist of grilles, registers and diffusers, terminal units, fire and smoke dampers, louvres, filters, and fans.

The decision to sell the Air Distribution Technologies business is a strategic move by Johnson Controls to simplify its portfolio and focus on becoming a leading solutions provider for commercial buildings. The transaction is expected to be finalized in the second half of the year. This news follows speculation of other industrial businesses such as Robert Bosch, Lennox International, and Samsung Electronics showing interest in acquiring Johnson Controls’ HVAC assets. The company has been considering selling its HVAC businesses for some time now including York International
