On April 13, at Schilke Field, the University of Jamestown suffered a crushing 15-2 loss to No. 13-ranked Midland University. The game took a significant turn when the Jimmies gave up 10 runs in the fourth inning, allowing the Warriors to take a commanding lead. Despite scoring four runs in the top of the first, the Jimmies managed to respond with two runs in the second inning. However, they continued to widen the gap with another run, pushing the score to 5-2. In that fateful fourth inning, Midland capitalized on reaching eight hitters and secured their win with a final score of 8-2.

In an effort for redemption, Jamestown came back and won the second game of the doubleheader with a score of 3-1. Kayla Quintanilla was instrumental in setting the tone by hitting a double in the third inning, giving Jamestown a 1-0 lead. Despite coming close to securing a shutout win, Jamestown allowed Midland to tie it up at 1-1 after an unearned run by them. It wasn’t until the ninth inning when Samarah Martinez hit a crucial double down left field line that scored two runs and secured Jamestown’s win with a final score of 3-1.
