In a major move to bolster their pass-rushing unit, the New York Jets have acquired All-Pro linebacker Haason Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles. According to reports by CBS Sports Lead NFL Insider Jonathan Jones, the trade agreement involves a conditional draft pick in 2026 going to Philadelphia in exchange for Reddick. Initially a third-round selection, the pick could become a second-rounder if Reddick meets certain performance targets.

Reddick, aged 29, had been seeking a trade out of Philadelphia as he entered the final year of his contract with the Eagles. Scheduled to earn a base salary of $14.25 million in 2024 with a $21.8 million cap charge, it became clear that a trade was likely for Reddick. The Eagles had given him permission to explore trade opportunities earlier in the offseason, leading to this deal with the Jets.

The departure of Bryce Huff from the Jets in the offseason created a gap that Haason Reddick is now filling. This trade represents a mutual benefit for both teams, completing a roundabout swap between the two franchises.

Reddick, originally drafted as the No. 13 overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2017 NFL Draft, played for them for four seasons before joining the Carolina Panthers for a year and then moving to the Philadelphia Eagles. In Philadelphia, he excelled as a premier pass rusher, earning consecutive Pro Bowl selections and second-team All-Pro honors in 2022. With Reddick on board,
