JetBlue is introducing a new feature to its Basic Economy fares starting on September 6th. This update will allow passengers to bring one carry-on bag and a personal item on board, in addition to their existing luggage. This move aligns JetBlue with its direct competitors such as American Airlines, United, and Delta, who also offer one free carry-on and one free personal item with their basic fares.

JetBlue president Marty St. George expressed the importance of this feature to customers and the airline’s commitment to providing the best service possible. He emphasized the desire for JetBlue to be the preferred choice over other airlines with basic offerings.

Passengers who book Blue Basic tickets will be able to bring their carry-on bag and personal item on board without any additional cost. However, checked bags will still incur a fee, with the first and second bags costing an additional $65 each, and a third bag costing $180. If overhead bins are full, passengers may be required to check their carry-on at no additional charge.

This new policy aims to enhance the customer experience and keep JetBlue competitive within the industry. With this update, JetBlue is looking forward to continuing to provide excellent service and value for its customers while remaining competitive in the marketplace.
