Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) officers are currently investigating a fatal shooting that took place inside a Jet Ski repair shop in northwest Miami-Dade on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred at the shop, located near Northwest 50th Street and 35th Avenue, shortly after 7:30 p.m. The victim has been identified as German Amado De La Cruz, Jr., who was the owner of the shop.

Upon arrival, MDPD officers found De La Cruz suffering from gunshot wounds and transported him by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) to a nearby hospital in critical condition but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. According to eyewitnesses present at the scene, the shooter was at the business in the morning and the shooting occurred much later in the day.

A friend of the victim who works next door expressed shock at the incident and mentioned that De La Cruz had not mentioned any issues earlier. The friend described De La Cruz as a married man with two children, one of them being a newborn baby. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear, and the police have not yet identified a suspect.
