Jamestown city crews will conduct street sweeping in the downtown business district on the evening of Thursday, April 11. The city engineer’s office announced that the sweeping will begin at approximately 11 p.m. and continue until work is completed. When reporting on basic news briefs derived from official sources, such as a city press release regarding road closures, news stories often use a byline of “staff.” This approach requires minimal additional reporting. Similarly, when a news story involves multiple authors or is compiled by aggregating information from various sources, the “staff” byline may also be used for transparency purposes. In all cases where external sources are referenced within a story, this is clearly noted for transparency.
