The New York Knicks took a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference semifinals, thanks in large part to Jalen Brunson’s triumphant return from injury. Brunson scored 24 of his 29 points in the second half, sparking a comeback that saw the Knicks secure a crucial win on the anniversary of Willis Reed’s iconic Game 7 appearance in the 1970 NBA Finals.

Despite missing the entire second quarter while the Pacers surged ahead, Brunson’s resurgence helped propel the Knicks to victory. While he fell short of scoring 40 points for the fifth consecutive playoff game, his contributions were exactly what the team needed to take a commanding series lead.

OG Anunoby also had a standout performance, scoring a career playoff-high 28 points before leaving the game with an injury. Despite facing injuries that have sidelined key players, the Knicks received strong contributions from Brunson and his Villanova teammates Donte DiVincenzo and Josh Hart. DiVincenzo scored 28 points, while Hart contributed 19 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists to help propel the Knicks to victory.

Tyrese Haliburton bounced back from a tough Game 1 with an impressive performance, posting 34 points, nine assists, and six rebounds for the Pacers. However, their struggles continued after head coach Rick Carlisle was ejected from the game following two technical fouls.

As they shift to Indiana for Games 3 and 4, the Knicks will look to continue their momentum and secure a spot in the Eastern Conference finals for their first time since 2000.
