The Israeli Army and its allies successfully rescued four hostages who were kidnapped by Palestinian militias in a terrorist attack on October 7. The rescue took place in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the heart of Gaza Strip. The four hostages, including Noa Argamani, Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv, were taken captive during the Supernova music festival.

The operation was carried out by Israeli military forces, Israel’s Foreign Intelligence and Security Service (Shin Bet), and Yamam anti-terrorist unit of the Border Police. Unfortunately, one Yamam commander lost his life during the operation. However, all four hostages were safely extracted and are currently receiving medical attention at Tel Hashomer hospital.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commended the joint forces for their bravery and success in rescuing the hostages. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant also praised the operation as one of the most heroic he has witnessed in his 47 years of service in Israel’s defense system. However, Gaza Strip health authorities have reported civilian casualties due to Israeli bombings that occurred during the rescue mission.

In response to the successful rescue of the hostages, former Chief of General Staff Benny Gantz has canceled his planned appearance due to resignation ultimatum to the government for a concrete plan for post-war future. Gaza Strip health authorities have reported at least 150 deceased civilians and dozens of injured individuals receiving medical attention due to Israeli bombings that took place during this incident.
