Last week, leaders from McLeod Health’s Coastal Region and Workforce Development teams gathered with leaders from Horry Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) for a check presentation at the Grand Strand Campus. During the event, McLeod Health pledged $375,000 to support the new Nursing & Health Sciences Institute at HGTC. This partnership aims to develop a well-prepared healthcare workforce and enhance the overall health of the community.

Monica Vehige, CEO of McLeod Loris Seacoast, emphasized the importance of investing in nursing and allied health programs at HGTC. By supporting these programs, McLeod Health is not only ensuring high-quality graduates but also contributing to the vitality of the community. The goals of the HGTC Nursing & Health Sciences Institute include creating a world-class simulation learning environment, increasing nursing enrollment, providing clinical rotation opportunities, and attracting top-tier healthcare faculty.
