In the 72-arrow 70-metre qualifying round of the second stage of the international tour in Yecheon, Korea, reigning Hyundai Archery World Cup Champion Marcus D’Almeida shot an impressive 691 points. This performance earned him the top seed in the recurve men’s event, despite the challenging conditions of the field used for host nation’s domestic selections in 2024.

Marcus attributed his success to his focus on his body and ability to adapt to changing wind conditions. He acknowledged that luck plays a role in archery but was able to stay composed and deliver a strong performance. The only recurve man to score over 690 points, Marcus faced stiff competition from second seed Kim Woojin and third-place finisher Matias Grande. Despite the competitive field, Marcus was able to maintain his composure and secure the top seed.

After missing out on the season opener in Shanghai, Marcus entered this competition with a strong focus on training and improving his performance. He emphasized the importance of pushing himself to be at his best and recognized that each competition is a new opportunity to showcase his skills. As he begins his defense of the circuit trophy, Marcus is determined to continue pushing himself and striving for excellence in every competition he enters.
