On Thursday, the Houston Texans welcomed two new players to voluntary OTAs as they began their first workouts in team uniforms. Pro Bowl defensive end Danielle Hunter and wide receiver Stefon Diggs were seen at Methodist Center practice facility alongside NRG Stadium.

Last week, Hunter, Diggs, Pro Bowl tackle Laremy Tunsil, and offensive linemen Shaq Mason and Tytus Howard did not participate in drills. However, Mason returned to practice as expected while Howard was absent.

Diggs, who was traded to the Texans this offseason for a 2025 second-round pick, looked sharp running routes alongside Nico Collins and Tank Dell during his first workout with the team. The question of whether the Texans will re-sign him in the future remains unanswered as he is playing for a new contract in 2025 after having the last three years of his extension voided. On the other hand, Hunter signed a two-year $51 million contract this offseason and is expected to continue his success from his record-setting season with Minnesota last year where he replaced Jonathan Greenard opposite Defensive Rookie of the Year Will Anderson Jr.

In addition to these new players, the Texans have also added linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, defensive lineman Denico Autry, and Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon. With C.J. Stroud gaining more experience as he competes for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year title alongside other top quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert from Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers respectively. The Texans are considered favorites to win the AFC South this season with their talented roster that includes Deshaun Watson at QB position despite being suspended for 6 games due to sexual misconduct allegations against him which has caused controversy around him but still keeping fans hopeful about his performance on field when he returns after serving suspension period.

Overall, it’s an exciting time for Houston Texans fans as they look forward to seeing how these new additions will fit into their roster and contribute towards their goal of winning an AFC South title this season.
