FC Bayern has announced the signing of defender Josip Stanisic for a long-term contract until June 30, 2029. Stanisic, who was loaned to Bayer Leverkusen last season, where he won the German championship and cup with the Werkself, expressed gratitude towards Leverkusen for the learning opportunities he had both on and off the pitch during his time there.

Stanisic, who is originally from Munich, described it as a nice feeling to be back in his home country. The young defender has played in 41 competitive matches and scored one goal for FC Bayern since joining their U17 juniors in January 2017. Sporting director Max Eberl commented on Stanisic’s qualities, stating that he knows what is important at FC Bayern and has already proven himself at the highest levels.

In addition to Stanisic, FC Bayern recently extended the contract of young midfield star Aleksandar Pavlovic until 2029. Pavlovic, who has been with Bayern since he was seven years old, made his debut in the senior team last season under coach Thomas Tuchel. Despite missing the European Championships due to health reasons, Pavlovic was given his first professional contract at the beginning of November.
