High School Sports Action: Softball and Baseball
On Monday, April 15, there were some exciting high school sports action in El Paso. In softball, Chapin defeated El Paso High with a score of 13-2. Fatima Hernandez had a standout performance, hitting a home run and contributing 2 RBIs to the win. Yari Acosta and Nialani Mata also played well at the plate.
Meanwhile, in baseball, Riverside came out on top against Bowie with a score of 15-3. Ferreyra pitched an impressive game with 8 strikeouts. Louie Lopez, Tavo Sanchez, Evan Martinez, and Daniel Terrazas all had solid performances at the plate for Ysleta in their win over Parkland.
In addition to these games, Canutillo shut out Andress with a score of 14-0. I. Garza led the team both on the mound and at the plate, while Melendez, Fargas, and Guerra were also key contributors to the team’s success. This high school sports action highlights the talent and dedication of the student-athletes in the El Paso area.
