On a motorbike journey towards Kon Tum, Doctor Nguyen Van Giap and his wife encountered a group of Ho Chi Minh City Market Management officials who were involved in a traffic accident. The couple, both medical professionals, immediately stopped to help the injured individuals at the scene.

Dr. Giap, a 35-year-old doctor, identified himself as a medical professional and began assisting the more than 20 injured people lying on the road. His wife, Dr. Luong Hai Yen, who is 33 years old, took out supplies from her bag to help bandage the injured patients. They both worked tirelessly to provide first aid to as many people as possible until further medical assistance arrived.

Despite the chaotic situation at the scene of the accident, Dr. Giap and his wife remained calm and composed as they assessed the injuries and provided necessary medical care. They used whatever resources they had available to help the victims, including using a knife to cut clothes for bandages and encouraging others to assist in providing aid.

One patient who experienced cardiac arrest was quickly attended to by Dr. Yen, who performed chest compressions and artificial respiration until the patient’s heartbeat was restored. They arranged for the patient to be transported to the nearest hospital for further treatment, continuing to provide medical care throughout the journey.

In total, 24 injured individuals were treated at the scene by Dr. Giap and his wife before being taken to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment. Tragically, one person lost their life, and many others sustained serious injuries
