Inspectors from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health conducted a surprise inspection at the UCI International facility and found that they were offering services to “increase penis size” for customers, despite being registered for sauna and massage services only. The inspection took place on April 16, and officials discovered that the facility on Nguyen Van Cu Street in District 1 had two customers undergoing services related to increasing size, among others.

During the inspection, it was found that the room doors on the 4th, 5th, and 6th floors were locked. Upon requesting the facility’s representative to open the doors, it was revealed that the 4th and 5th floors were used for customer services, each floor having a room with beds and products. The 6th floor was used to store goods and cosmetics for guests. Since the facility could not provide invoices or documents for the products, they were detained temporarily.

Further investigation into the facility’s social media presence revealed advertisements for services such as andrology, face rejuvenation, and body lift. However, it was discovered that UCI International had only been registered for sauna, massage, and similar health promotion services without authorization for medical treatments. The Health Department decided to suspend the facility’s operations and impose a fine of at least 60 million VND while also urging stricter post-licensing inspections for businesses engaging in illegal services.

In addition to this incident, inspectors also visited Saigon Shine Beauty Center in District 3 where they found out that there were advertisements of “increase penis size” on their social media platforms despite having a Skin Care Business Registration Certificate but promoting these illegal activities. Following a second inspection within half a month, Saigon Shine Beauty Center lost its practice certificate for six months with a fine of over $132 million VND.

The Department of Health advised the public to verify information from social networks through official channels before going to any clinic or doctor’s office to avoid complications or scams. Suspicious activities can be reported to their health department hotline or through their online health application.

This incident highlights how important it is for businesses operating in healthcare sector follow proper licensing procedures and regulations set by authorities in order to avoid harming customers’ health as well as facing legal consequences if caught operating illegally.
