The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Swiss President Viola Amherd are working together to plan a world peace summit in Switzerland, with the goal of bringing together 80 to 100 countries for discussions on achieving global peace. However, Russia has expressed skepticism about the summit, stating that it would only be meaningful if they were included in the discussions.

In an interview, Zelenskiy explained that the first step is to finalize a date for the summit with the Swiss president, after which they will send out invitations to world leaders. He emphasized that they are aiming to have a diverse group of nations in attendance to put pressure on Russia to engage in fair peace negotiations. While they do not have a specific list of countries yet, Zelenskiy hopes to confirm the details in the coming days rather than weeks.

Zelenskiy expressed gratitude to Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan for his support and willingness to mediate in the conflict. However, he noted that Turkey’s role will be as a participant in the summit rather than the main mediator. He acknowledged the complexity of bringing together so many countries with different interests and relationships but stressed the importance of finding common ground to move forward towards peace.

Despite these challenges, Zelenskiy expressed optimism about finding a format that would facilitate constructive discussions and agreements among the diverse group of nations involved. He said that organizing such a large-scale summit is no easy task but believes it is possible with determination and cooperation from all parties involved.

The Ukraine president also emphasized that he is committed to working towards a peaceful resolution of conflicts and ensuring security for all people around the world. He stated that this summit could be an opportunity for leaders from different nations to come together and work towards building bridges instead of walls.

Overall, Zelenskiy’s efforts towards organizing this world peace summit demonstrate his commitment towards promoting peace and stability across the globe. With Russia expressing skepticism about participating, it remains uncertain whether or not this ambitious initiative will come off successfully. However, Zelenskiy’s optimism and determination remain unwavered as he continues to push forward towards achieving global peace.
