The New York Giants are heading into their third year under head coach Brian Daboll with low expectations for the upcoming 2024 season. Despite a strong start under Daboll, which included a playoff win in 2023, the team had a disappointing season last year. Pro Football Focus recently ranked the Giants’ roster as 31st in the league, ahead of only the Denver Broncos.

The Giants will be without key players like running back Saquon Barkley and safety Xavier McKinney this season. However, there are reasons for optimism, including improvements to the offensive line with the acquisitions of Jon Runyan Jr. and Jermaine Eluemunor. The front seven also received a boost with the addition of Brian Burns in a trade.

Staying healthy will be a priority for the Giants in 2024, especially for important players like left tackle Andrew Thomas and quarterback Daniel Jones. Jones will have to adjust to not having Barkley in the backfield, but he will have a revamped receiving corps that now includes first-round pick Malik Nabers.

Despite being ranked low by PFF, the Giants are looking to defy expectations and improve on their performance from last season. The team will need key players to step up and stay healthy if they hope to have a successful season under Daboll.
