Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann has been granted a two-year contract extension, keeping him in charge of the national team through the 2026 World Cup. This decision ends any possibility of Nagelsmann returning to Bayern Munich, who are currently searching for a new coach for next season after parting ways with Thomas Tuchel. The German soccer federation made the announcement on Friday, with both the supervisory board and shareholders unanimously approving the extension.

Nagelsmann has brought a positive change to the German team since taking over in March 2023, following wins over France and the Netherlands in recent matches. He was previously fired by Bayern but has now been given the opportunity to continue coaching at the international level. This extension ensures that Nagelsmann will lead Germany through some major tournaments in the coming years, including Euro 2024, which Germany is set to host.

Nagelsmann expressed his gratitude for being given this opportunity, stating that it was a decision made from the heart. He feels honored to train the national team and work with some of the best players in the country. With this contract extension, Nagelsmann will continue to play an important role in shaping Germany’s future success on the international stage.
