A pair of geese has taken up residence outside the offices of a talent management agency in Murray, causing quite a commotion. Despite initial skepticism that the space was suitable for a nest, Vickie Panek, an employee, has observed that the Canadian geese have been around for a couple of years and have persisted in their behavior.

Lucy, the female goose, has begun laying eggs using the spikes on the property as her nesting site. The office staff is concerned about the limited space on the second-story ledge for the birds and their eggs. With four eggs already laid by Lucy and more potentially on the way, there are concerns about how long she will be able to balance and land safely on such a small ledge.

The Division of Wildlife Resources has advised that relocating the geese is not possible until after hatching season. In addition to worrying about their safety and well-being, staff members are also concerned about potential damage to their property caused by Lucy’s attempts to lay more eggs or by her slipping off the edge in distress.

As they wait for Lucy’s eggs to hatch, staff members are closely monitoring the situation to ensure that everything goes smoothly. While it may seem like an unusual problem to some people, it highlights just how diverse and complex our natural world can be – even in urban environments like Murray.
