Leonard Ellerbe, who played a key role in Floyd Mayweather’s rise to fame in the early 2000s, has announced his decision to step down as CEO of Mayweather Promotions. In a statement shared on Mayweather’s Instagram, the boxer expressed his gratitude towards Ellerbe for his exceptional leadership and dedication over the years.

Ellerbe’s decision to step down was attributed to his desire to spend more time with his family and loved ones. Mayweather Promotions is looking forward to a new chapter with Richard Schaefer on board. As part of the transition, Mayweather Promotions will be establishing Mayweather Headquarters in Los Angeles in collaboration with Schaefer. The goal is to expand their global presence, support fighters worldwide, and assist them in making strategic business decisions that will benefit them beyond their boxing careers.

Since retiring from professional boxing in 2017 with a perfect 50-0 record, Mayweather has participated in several exhibition bouts, including matches against YouTubers Logan Paul and Deji. As he continues to explore opportunities outside of the ring, Mayweather remains a prominent figure in the world of combat sports.
