Over the weekend, the former tenants of the vacant Yard Birds shopping center faced losses as a break-in occurred at BnT’s American Treasures, a family business that had been at Yard Birds for 14 years. The owners, Blake and Cory McDrummond, reported that their trailer was stolen, which they used for various purposes related to their estate and retail store cleaning business.

The theft occurred when someone physically unbolted the gate of BnT’s and took it off its hinges, allowing access to the area where the trailer was kept. The thieves then took the trailer sometime after noon on Saturday. The trailer, which was used daily by the McDrummonds, was described as a 14-foot dual axle with side racks and metal stakes.

Despite efforts to clear out the mall for potential sale, owner Darris McDaniel did not allow anyone inside due to liability concerns. Instead, items from the mall are being placed outside along the walls of the structure. Some of these items include personal belongings of the McDrummonds that they had not yet removed after the mall’s closure in 2022.

A police report has been filed for the stolen trailer, and a reward is being offered for any information leading to its recovery. Tana McDrummond, who reached out to the community for help in retrieving the trailer, can be contacted through her Facebook page. The giveaway at Yard Birds is ongoing, with new items being added daily.
