In 2013, Ben McLemore was the seventh overall pick in the NBA Draft. However, his journey in the league has been tainted by legal issues. Recently, he was arrested in Oregon on multiple sex crime charges. The allegations are related to an incident that occurred in Lake Oswego, Oregon, on October 3, 2021. The charges include first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, and second-degree sexual abuse.

Despite being part of the Portland Trail Blazers at the time of the alleged incident, McLemore went on to play for teams overseas in China, Greece, and Spain. However, this did not stop the police from gathering evidence against him. In February, a grand jury heard testimony from the alleged victim leading to an indictment and arrest warrant against McLemore. He has since been released from jail after posting bail of $50,000 with a court hearing scheduled for July 1st at 10 a.m. PT.

McLemore played nine seasons in the NBA for teams like the Kings, Grizzlies, Rockets, Lakers and Blazers. His lawyers have not yet provided comments on the situation. As a journalist covering NBA news and events it is important to keep track of this story as more details emerge and updates are made available.
