Dustin Gaspard, a computer programmer and Southeastern alumnus, will be the guest speaker at the final installment of the Department of Computer Science at Southeastern Louisiana University’s spring Industry Connect Distinguished Lectures on April 18th at 4 p.m. In his presentation titled “How has the industry changed since I graduated, and what are the emerging trends I’m seeing in the industry for the next twenty years?”, Gaspard will share his insights and experiences from his long career in the field of computer programming, which began in 1998 during high school with Lloyds of London.

Since then, Gaspard has worked on various projects, including automating Post 9/11 GI Benefits and collaborating on onlinebanking.capitalone.com. Currently, he is focused on modernizing the HR platform for the Federal government, a project that impacts over 2,000,000 employees. The lecture will take place in the Envoc Innovation Lab, located in room 2026 of the Computer Science and Technology Building on Southeastern’s campus. The event is free and open to the public, and guests can choose to attend either in person or virtually via Google Meet.
