Jack Hanna, the 77-year-old zookeeper and television personality, is facing a challenging battle against Alzheimer’s disease. His family announced that he has been diagnosed with the disease in 2019 and is experiencing a decline in his health, showing typical symptoms of advanced Alzheimer’s.
Despite the challenges they are facing, Hanna’s family shared that they are trying to find moments of joy each day. They decided to share the update to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease, which affects nearly 7 million Americans and their loved ones.
In a previous interview in 2023, Hanna’s family disclosed that he only remembers his wife, Suzi, his dog, and occasionally his oldest daughter, Kathaleen. Suzi expressed that although the Jack people knew may no longer be fully present, there are still glimpses of him that remind her of why they fell in love.
Taking care of her husband has become Suzi’s priority. She mentioned that some days are extremely challenging but is determined to support him through this difficult journey. Despite everything, she tries to find joy in small things like watching Jack play with his dog or hearing him laugh at something funny on TV.
