In the lead-up to the start of the 2024 MLB season, El Modena High School in Orange, California, unveiled a new addition that holds special significance for Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman. The school revealed the new Freddie Freeman Clubhouse, made possible in part by a generous $500,000 donation from the former MVP himself.

The clubhouse spans 1,440 square feet and features a locker room, a team meeting area equipped with monitors, a coaches’ office, and expanded batting cages. The Dodgers and Freeman shared images of the facility on Instagram, showcasing the locker room and a large mural depicting Freeman in the school’s Vanguard uniform, complete with a list of his achievements as reported by the Orange County Register.

During his time at El Modena, Freeman excelled in varsity baseball both as a batter and pitcher. His impressive stats included a .417 batting average with five home runs and 10 stolen bases along with six pitching wins carrying an ERA of 1.27 and 59 strikeouts in just 44 innings. He was recognized as Orange County Register’s Player of the Year in 2007 which led to his selection by Atlanta Braves in second round of draft that year.

El Modena’s baseball team has seen success in recent seasons with a record of 14-12-1 last year following up from strong performance of 22-10 showing prior to this clubhouse dedication. This marks a significant milestone for the school and its baseball program honoring the legacy of one of its most celebrated alumni.
