Texas has secured its place in the Women’s College World Series after a hard-fought victory over Texas A&M in the Austin Super Regional. They won the series 2-1, with a decisive Game 3 that was decided by just one run. Despite losing the opener on Friday, Texas managed to rally and secure a win in extra innings on Saturday.

In addition to Texas, other teams have also earned their spots in the World Series by winning their Game 3 matchups. Florida emerged victorious against Baylor with a score of 5-3, Duke won against Missouri with a score of 4-3, Alabama upset Tennessee with a score of 4-1, and Stanford defeated LSU 8-0.

Duke qualified for the first time in its seven-year history and will face Oklahoma in the World Series, seeking its fourth consecutive national title. The opening-day matchups at Devon Park in Oklahoma City will see Texas play against Stanford, Alabama face UCLA, and Florida take on Oklahoma State.

Alabama managed to hold off a late rally by Tennessee to win the Knoxville Super Regional with strong pitching performances from Jocelyn Briski and Kayla Beaver. Duke and Florida also fended off rallies in their respective regions to secure their spots in the World Series.

Stanford’s NiJaree Canady bounced back from a tough first game in the super regional to deliver two dominant pitching performances that helped her team advance to the World Series. Canady, a top-three finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, showcased her skills by throwing either a two-hitter in seven innings or a three-hitter in six innings in subsequent games.
