The GROMADA project 2023-1-SE01-KA220-HED-000151848 aims to enhance cooperation among European universities to strengthen public and legal capacity for environmental recovery in Ukraine. The project is tailored for individuals from academic and scientific backgrounds, policymakers, and representatives from non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

The workshop will focus on analyzing environmental trends before and after the full-scale invasion, as well as the current state of citizen science and civic monitoring in Ukraine. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to conversations about methodologies and project priorities related to studying air, water, soil, and natural resources.

Given the significant impact of the war on Ukraine’s environment, the GROMADA project promotes civic engagement in environmental citizen science while considering the legal framework. By assessing the obstacles and possibilities for community involvement in environmental initiatives and peacebuilding efforts, GROMADA underscores the importance of monitoring environmental harm during times of conflict. This approach aims to empower communities affected by conflict and promote environmental action in a legal context.
