Over the past year, Placer Veteran Services has filed more than 5,200 veteran claims totaling over $11.5 million. This represents a significant increase of about 40% compared to the previous year, as the need to care for veterans continues to rise.

This surge in claims is believed to be due to the recently enacted PACT Act, which aims to provide more health care and benefits to veterans who have been exposed to toxic chemicals like Agent Orange and burn pits during their time in service. Air Force veteran Alexander Scott is just one of many who are benefiting from this law and receiving the treatment he needs after long-term exposure to burn pits.

Scott and other veterans are sharing their stories in hopes of encouraging others to seek the necessary treatment. Placer Veteran Services emphasizes that this trend is not limited to California but is occurring nationwide. Veterans are urged to reach out for help and take advantage of the available resources to receive the care and compensation they deserve.
