FC Dallas was defeated by Austin FC in a 2-1 match held on Saturday night in Texas. Julio Cascante and Diego Rubio scored the goals for Austin, leading their team to victory.

Rubio’s second goal of the season was scored in the 70th minute. A perfect cross from Sebastián Driussi allowed Rubio to position himself behind the defense and head the ball into the net from close range. This goal put Austin ahead of Dallas 2-1.

Just five minutes earlier, Dallas had taken a 1-0 lead over Austin when Eugene Ansah shot past Austin’s goalkeeper, Brad Stuver. However, Austin quickly equalized with Cascante redirecting a cross from Jon Gallagher into the back of the net, beating Maarten Paes, Dallas’ goalkeeper.

Despite an early lead, FC Dallas struggled to maintain possession and were outshot by Austin 16-7. Both goalkeepers made three saves each to keep the game close.

With this win, Austin improved its record to 1-2-3 while FC Dallas suffered its fourth consecutive loss after its season-opening victory against San Jose Earthquakes.
