In Paris, a French city located in the west, a group of 18 bakers broke a world record on Sunday by creating a 461-foot-long baguette. The team surpassed the previous record held by Como, Italy bakers for five years. A Guinness World Records judge was present to verify the achievement during an event organized by the French Confederation of Bakers and Pastry Chefs.

The president of the confederation, Dominique Anract, emphasized the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork required to achieve such a feat. He highlighted how bread is an essential part of France’s gastronomic heritage and plays a crucial role in performance. According to Guinness rules, the baguette must be at least 5 centimeters thick throughout and weigh around 250 grams. It must also be made only from wheat flour, water, salt, and yeast.

The baking process began at 3 am with participants kneading the dough made with 90 kilos of flour, 60 liters of water, 1.2 kilos of salt, and 1.2 kilos of yeast. The dough was then baked in a specially constructed wheeled tent oven. Suresnes Mayor Guillaume Boudy expressed pride in hosting this world record event and promoting French gastronomy as a national symbol. He commended the local bakers for their participation in maintaining the tradition of sharing essential to Suresnes’ conviviality.

After confirmation from Guinness officials, part of the baguette was distributed to interested onlookers while the rest was given to homeless people. This achievement not only showcased the baking skills of the team but also highlighted the cultural significance of French cuisine.

In conclusion, this achievement not only celebrates baking prowess but also promotes cultural significance through sharing and generosity towards those in need.
