Franklin County Public Health (FCPH) has been recognized for its dedication to quality improvement and equity in public health practice by maintaining its national accreditation status for another five years. The announcement was made on Wednesday, and it signifies that FCPH has met national standards and has the capability to enhance and advance its programs and services.

Health Commissioner Joe Mazzola expressed gratitude to FCPH staff, the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, and the communities served for their hard work and dedication in maintaining this accreditation. He highlighted that accreditation is a demanding process that requires organizations to demonstrate their commitment to quality improvement, collaboration, and equity in public health practice.

FCPH provides various community services such as promoting healthy behaviors, preventing disease and injuries, ensuring access to safe food and water, and providing immunizations. This accreditation demonstrates FCPH’s commitment to meeting national standards and delivering responsive services to the needs of the community.

Dr. Clint Koenig, President of the FCPH Board, expressed pride in the recognition from PHAB for meeting national standards. He emphasized that this announcement should reassure residents, community partners, and elected officials that the services provided by FCPH are tailored to the needs of the communities they serve.
