In recent years, both Bill Belichick and Pete Carroll, former NFL head coaches, have been spotted at University of Washington practices. The reason for their visits is that each of them has a son on new coach Jedd Fisch’s staff. Belichick’s son Steve Belichick serves as the defensive coordinator for the team while Carroll’s son Brennan Carroll is the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach for the Huskies.

Although Pete Carroll was not interviewed during the 2024 hiring cycle, he previously worked with Fisch in 2010 as his quarterbacks coach. On the other hand, Bill Belichick only received one interview. As speculation grows about where Belichick will end up in 2025, NFL teams in search of new coaches may want to consider looking at Carroll as well. Both coaches bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table, making them valuable assets to any team.

The University of Washington posted a video of both Belichick and Carroll visiting the team’s practice, showcasing their support for their sons and the coaching staff. It’s always interesting to see former NFL head coaches showing interest in the collegiate level, especially when it involves their own family members. The presence of Belichick and Carroll at the University of Washington practice speaks to the strong bond between coaches and their sons in the world of football.
